We started in 2018, with 30 baskets, helping 30 families at Thanksgiving. Since then, we’ve been dedicated to providing Thanksgiving meals to those in need. In 2024, our goal is 800 baskets to 800 families in need. You can help by donating your time and money.

Our Mission

Basket of Blessings is a grassroots initiative with one simple goal - feeding hungry families on Thanksgiving. We are an all-volunteer group, raising awareness to the need that exists in our community, and dedicated to creating positive change, and empowering young people to make a difference in the lives of their neighbors.

What We Do

Last year, we gave 800 families in our community a Thanksgiving meal, and our goal again this year is to provide 800 baskets to 800 families in the Central Florida area.
We work with local churches, charities and schools to identify families who will need baskets, and also to provide volunteers.
We are committed to making your contributions matter! We are a 100% volunteer group and are wholly funded by donations.
Every dollar you donate will be used to purchase the food that we deliver to families.

Basket of Blessings is designed for, and staffed mostly by middle and high school students, with the idea that one small act of kindness or generosity can make a HUGE impact in the life of someone less fortunate.
In addition to traditional foods like corn, green beans, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, and pie, we include a 12 - 14 lb turkey in our baskets, so that families receive a full Thanksgiving meal.
